The new struggle for youth; to retain a sense of individuality, purpose, and let’s face it, to party; has rung in a new era, a generation of style blended in the ubiquitous vat we’ve come to know as popular culture. We are all a part of it. Each a contributing factor. We are the direct product of our past and present surroundings, born into the New Age of advertising, technology, and social standardization (thanks Internet!). To shun pop culture’s progression (or regression), is a level of naivety that will not be a defense against the future onslaught of bad reality television, poor style choices, new drugs, or embarrassingly hollow excuses for the “celebrity”. But, instead of fearing trends, scoffing at the latest ‘it’ musician, or living in the days that have passed, why not embrace the future for its good, as well as its bad? This is our time; this is our struggle, a chance to make our mark on generations to come! Do not forget your youth, relish in it, but do not fear what lies ahead; Create, debate, participate. Do not let the negative connotations associated with life in the new millennium define you as a person, for we are the Ageless Generation, the everlasting youth!
